Members of Counter Terrorism Unit of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a drive arrested two students on charge of spreading a video of a mother and her daughter on Facebook messenger this evening.
The arrestees are Avishekh Sen Sharma (21) and Sutanu Sabyachachi Aditya (19).
Police also seized their mobile devices and recovered the video.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of CT Asif Mohiuddin told the daily star “Avishekh had secretly recorded video a girl and her mother changing clothes and later spread the video on messenger on March 29.”
“After spreading the video, Avishekh told the girl that a video was circulating online and demanded money from them through Bkash,” added ADC Asif.
They also sent the video to the victims and started blackmailing them. The girl then lodged a complaint with the Counter Terrorism unit.
ADC Asif said after investigation, police held Avishekh and Aditya from the port city.
A case was lodged with Panchlaish Police station under Pornography Control Act.
