Police suspect the father killed the two following a family dispute
Police on Monday recovered the bodies of a mother and her one-and-a-half-year-old son from their residence in Mirhazirbagh area of Jatrabari in Dhaka.
The deceased were identified as Roma Akhter, 27, and her son Md Rishad.
The bodies have been sent to the Sir Salimullah Medical College morgue for autopsy.
A hammer and pillow were recovered from the spot of the incident, reports Bangla Tribune.
Police are suspecting that the husband, one Abdul Ohid, murdered his wife and son following a family dispute.
Confirming the matter, Jatrabari police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Humayun Kabir said: “The husband, Ohid, is yet to be brought into custody. He is currently on the run.
“We are suspecting that the mother and son were hit with the hammer and strangled with the pillow recovered from the scene.”
“Efforts are underway to arrest Ohid,” the SI added.
