A madrasa student has reportedly been raped by her teacher in Sharsha upazila of Jashore.
The accused, Abdul Gafur, is the assistant superintendent of Gopalpur Ichhapur Aminia Dakhil Madrasa, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting Officer-in-Charge Badrul Alam of Sharsha Police Station.
A case was filed with the police station in this regard.
The incident took place in the madrasa on Thursday following which the victim went home crying and informed her family, the OC said quoting the case statement.
Abdul Gafur had already fled when the victim’s family members and neighbours went to the spot on that day.
Police are trying to arrest the accused, the OC said.
However, locals have complained that an influential party was trying desperately to conceal the incident.
