In most of the cases, women in our country do not stand up against cyber violence because of the fear of shame. They are constantly thinking over how society will react to this? We are living in such a conservative society where sex is a taboo subject to talk, according to the cultural anthropologist Ernest Becker, sex is such a problematic issue to talk because it reminds us about our core human needs and animal nature. Bangladesh is not the place for women where they can easily open up and talk about sexual violence because as a result end of the day they will be blamed. Most of the time girls and women did not speak up about the online harassment, they have gone through and to bring up the topic in front of their elders as well as their same-age cousins and friends. Because of this conservative mentality and ancient thinking, the rate of cyber violence increasing day by day. Many people have some ideas about legal remedies but the lion share of the people does not have an idea and unaware of what to do, how to do, and consciousness that they should speak up about the online harassment they have faced. Once a girl called NAWSHEEN ZAMAN, a boy asked her out, but she refused to that boy than after out of anger that boy created a fake account in the name of that girl, he had collected her photos from Facebook and photoshopped with a naked body, he had done that so smartly, and that looked so real even her brother nearly thrown up her from the house and everyone surrounding her including her classmates and friends called her slut, and have started questioning her character, she has become the nastiest girl in society, everyone made her feel, she has done something very wrong. Rather than investigating or identifying the culprit, people started to blame her. Victim blaming is a common phenomenon in Bangladesh, without considering the situation .which the victim has got to grips with, they involved in accusing the victims of misfortune caused to them, though she is not guilty but society makes her feel guilty. when a girl was abused in front of many people online, it becomes so dishonorable for her to handle. It creates a negative impact on her mindset, as a result, the suicidal tendency has shown on their behavior. We have to create awareness about the merits and demerits of cyber usage among children and girls. As much as we are concern about the safety of our girls offline or in the real world similarly we should have to pay the same attention to the safety of girls online as well.
